Features and fit
Sizing by nose depth
Philips notes that, unlike most full face masks, the Amara View is sized by how far your nose projects, measured with its gauge. Every cushion size fits the one frame, so there's no frame size to pick.
- Keep the gauge off your cheeks while you measure
- Between two sizes, Philips says to choose the smaller
- DreamWear Full Face sizes don't carry over to this mask
Adjusting the straps for leaks
Philips' rule is to fix a leak at the nose with the crown strap first, which moves the cushion closer to or away from the base of your nose. Leaks at the sides or chin call for the side straps.
- One finger should slip under each side strap
- Red marks or bulging skin mean it's too tight
- A little leak is normal and nothing to chase
Venting and the safety valve
Your breath leaves through small ports in the cushion. The elbow holds an anti-asphyxia valve, a flap that lets room air in if your machine stops blowing.
- With the machine off, the flap should lie flat
- Once air flows it should close, and if it doesn't, replace the mask
- Never cover the ports or the valve with bedding
Machines, settings and Amara View parts
Philips leaves the choice of machine to your care provider, and the mask suits CPAP and bilevel therapy. On a DreamStation or System One, your provider enters X1 as the mask value.
- Not for the ResMed AirMini, which takes ResMed's AirMini packs only
- Cushions, standard or large headgear, the tube and clips are sold separately

Under-nose seal
The cushion covers your mouth and seals beneath your nose rather than over it, so nothing presses on the bridge. Philips designed it to avoid the red marks and soreness that bridge contact can cause.
Wide view
In Philips' own testing, it covered less of the face than other full face masks it compared, leaving a wider field of vision. Philips set out to keep reading, TV and glasses comfortable in bed.
Quick-release tube
A short tube with a swivel joins the mask to your hose, and squeezing two tabs frees it. You can get up in the night and come back without taking the mask off.
Magnetic clips
Magnetic clips attach the lower straps to the frame, which Philips says makes refitting the headgear quick, even in the middle of the night. To take it off, twist each clip outward.
Common questions
How often should I replace the Amara View?
Philips' current instructions say to discard the mask and headgear annually. In between, check for cracks, tears or a hardened cushion, and replace any part that shows them sooner.
How is the Amara View different from the Amara?
They're different masks. The original Amara has a forehead pad with a push-button adjuster and comes in four sizes. The Amara View has no forehead pad, seals beneath your nose and comes in three cushion sizes on one frame.
What comes in the Amara View Fit Pack?
One frame, headgear with magnetic clips, and Small, Medium and Large cushions. It's the easiest way to settle your size at home, and next time you can reorder a single size.
Is the Amara View dishwasher safe?
Yes, weekly, alongside your daily hand wash. Remove the headgear, which can't go in, separate the cushion from the frame, and place both on the upper rack with a gentle liquid detergent, then air dry.
Should I choose Amara View or DreamWear Full Face?
Both seal under your nose and around your mouth. The Amara View keeps its tube at the front on a quick release and needs only a cushion size, while the DreamWear Full Face routes air up through its frame to a hose at your crown.
Do I need a prescription to buy this mask?
No. Masks don't need a prescription, so you can order this one straight away. We only ask for a prescription with CPAP machines and ventilators, before they ship.
