Overview
The HumidAir 11 cleanable tub is the longer-lasting option for the humidifier inside the ResMed AirSense 11. It accepts ordinary drinking water, its lid comes away from the base, and ResMed expects it to stay in service for 2.5 years.
ResMed lists it for AirSense 11 AutoSet, Elite and CPAP models and for the AirCurve 11 VAuto, S and ASV. You receive one cleanable tub, ResMed part 39101, recognisable by the grey thumb grip on its lid.
Key features:
- Lid comes away: Open it fully and the lid pulls off the base, then clicks back onto its pivot when you refit it.
- Drinking water is fine: ResMed specifies drinking-quality water at room temperature for this tub, so a jug of distilled is optional.
- Dishwasher safe: The North American AirSense 11 guide permits it for the humidifier tub, at temperatures no higher than 55 C.
- Clinic-grade durability: ResMed validates it for repeated heat and chemical disinfection, the process clinics use when a tub moves between patients.
- Same fit and capacity: Capacity matches the standard tub to the millilitre, and it slides into the same side slot on your AirSense 11.
- Climate Control ready: With a ClimateLineAir 11 heated tube attached, your machine can balance tube warmth and humidity automatically through the night.
It suits anyone who would rather buy one tub and keep it for years, or stop buying distilled water. If your machine is yours alone and a fresh tub twice a year suits you, the standard HumidAir 11 tub fits the same models.
Note: AirSense 10 and AirCurve 10 owners need a different part, the original HumidAir cleanable tub. This HumidAir 11 version is made only for the AirSense 11 and AirCurve 11 families.
How it works
Taking the lid off
Wait ten minutes after therapy for the tub to cool, then press it gently at the top and bottom and lift it free of the machine. Hold the base, swing the lid fully open, and keep pulling until the lid releases from the base.
Everyday care
Every morning, empty the tub, dry the inside with a fresh disposable cloth, and leave it open to air out of the sun. Each week, wash the lid and base by hand in warm water and a little mild dish soap, or load them into the dishwasher, keeping it no hotter than 55 C. Keep chlorine bleach, aromatic solutions, and antibacterial soaps away from it.
Clicking it back together
Seat one side of the lid in the pivot hole in the base, line up the other side, and press down until you hear it click. Fill it to the maximum mark with room-temperature drinking water, then push the tub home in the machine's side slot.

Everything you need to know about the ResMed HumidAir Cleanable Water Tub for AirSense 11
One tub, years of nights
ResMed's design life for this tub runs to two and a half years, while the standard version is rated for six months. Over that stretch one cleanable tub does the work of about five standard ones, as long as it stays clear and free of cracks.
Skip the distilled water
ResMed lists drinking-quality water for the cleanable tub, so the jug of distilled water becomes optional. Minerals in tap water can cloud or pit a tub over time, ResMed notes, so watch for clouding as your cue for a new one.
Takes apart, built for clinics
The lid detaches fully from the base, so every inside corner is easy to reach. It's also the tub ResMed validates for repeated heat and chemical disinfection between patients, which tells you how much handling it's built to take.

Lid lifts off
The lid opens all the way and pulls free of the base, then clicks back into place when you're done.
Drinking water works
Fill it with ordinary drinking water instead of distilled, which means one less thing to buy and carry home.
Built for years
ResMed designs this tub to outlast the standard version several times over, so reordering becomes a rare job.
Grey thumb grip
Look for the grey grip on the lid, which is how ResMed tells the cleanable tub apart from the standard.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the cleanable tub work in an AirSense 10?
No. AirSense 10 and AirCurve 10 machines use their own HumidAir cleanable tub, a different ResMed part. This HumidAir 11 version fits only AirSense 11 and AirCurve 11 machines, so check the model name before you order.
How is it different from the standard tub?
Capacity and machine fit are identical. The cleanable tub comes apart, accepts drinking water, can be reprocessed for a new user, and lasts five times as long by ResMed's design life. The standard tub needs distilled water and is rated for six months.
Is the HumidAir 11 cleanable tub dishwasher safe?
Yes, within a limit. The AirSense 11 user guide ResMed publishes for North America permits a dishwasher for the humidifier tub at 55 C or below, though it doesn't name a rack or cycle. Hand washing in warm water with mild dishwashing liquid works too.
When should I replace the cleanable tub?
ResMed rates its design life at 2.5 years. Retire it earlier if it leaks, cracks, clouds over or pits, or if the seal is torn or cracked.
Do I need to disinfect it at home?
No. ResMed's disinfection steps are written for clinics and providers passing a tub from one patient to the next. At home, ResMed asks only for a daily empty and dry and a weekly wash, by hand or in the dishwasher.
