Overview

This is the standard water tub for the humidifier built into every ResMed AirSense 11. Your machine warms the water it holds and blends that moisture into your therapy air, which can make a long night of CPAP easier on your nose and throat.

It fits the AirSense 11 AutoSet, CPAP and Elite, along with the AirCurve 11 VAuto, S and ASV bilevels. In the box is one HumidAir 11 standard tub, ResMed part 39100, with a white thumb grip on the lid.

Key features:

  • Holds a night's water: ResMed's own testing at room temperature puts a full tub at more than eight hours before it needs topping up.
  • Dishwasher safe: ResMed's North American guide for AirSense 11 allows it, provided the temperature stays at 55 C or lower.
  • Distilled water only: ResMed specifies distilled water at room temperature for the standard tub, never hot water, and no scented oils or additives.
  • Built for Climate Control: Attach a ClimateLineAir 11 heated tube and your machine can manage tube warmth and humidity together on its own.
  • Loads from the side: Open the lid to fill it, close it again, and the tub slots into the machine's side panel.
  • Single-patient design: One person can keep using it night after night, though ResMed says it can't be reprocessed between different users.

Choose the standard tub if your AirSense 11 is yours alone and you're happy to keep distilled water on hand. If you'd rather use ordinary drinking water and keep one tub for years, the HumidAir 11 cleanable tub fits the same machines.

Note: This tub won't fit an AirSense 10 or AirCurve 10. Those machines take the original HumidAir tub, a different ResMed part, so check the model name on your machine before ordering.

How it works

Filling it

Lift the tub out of the machine and open its lid. Add distilled water at room temperature until it reaches the max line, shut the lid, and push the tub back into the device's side. Keep the machine on a level surface below your head so water stays out of the hose.

Removing it safely

After therapy, let the tub sit for ten minutes, or wait for the machine's cool-down to finish. Grip it top and bottom with a light squeeze, draw it out of the machine, and pour away whatever water is left.

Daily and weekly care

Each morning, pour out what's left, run a clean disposable cloth around the inside, and stand it open until dry, away from sunny windows. Once a week, wash it in warm water with a little mild dishwashing liquid, or put it through the dishwasher at 55 C or cooler, then rinse well. Skip bleach, chlorine, scented oils, and antibacterial or moisturizing soaps. White mineral marks come off with a mix of one part vinegar and ten parts water.

Everything you need to know about the ResMed HumidAir Standard Water Tub for AirSense 11

Humidity your machine manages

Your AirSense 11 heats the water this tub holds and blends it into your therapy air, at any level from off to 8. Add a ClimateLineAir 11 heated tube and Climate Control takes over, keeping tube warmth and humidity in balance as you sleep.

Keeping water out of your mask

Overfilling the tub or setting the machine higher than your head can send water into the hose and mask, ResMed warns. Stop at the max mark and keep the machine on a level surface below your head, and the water stays where it belongs.

Rated for the dishwasher

ResMed's AirSense 10 guide ruled the dishwasher out, but the AirSense 11 guide for North America allows the humidifier tub in one. Keep the temperature at 55 C or lower, and leave the air tubing out, since it still gets washed by hand.

Moisture all night

It holds the water your built-in humidifier warms, so the air reaching your mask can feel gentler on your nose.

Dishwasher safe

ResMed's North American guide lets this tub go in the dishwasher, so weekly care can skip the sink.

White thumb grip

The white grip on the lid marks this as the standard tub, so you can tell it from the cleanable one.

Predictable replacement

ResMed sets a clear replacement schedule, so the next tub can be on your shelf before this one clouds over.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the HumidAir 11 tub fit an AirSense 10?

No. The AirSense 10 and AirCurve 10 take the original HumidAir tub, ResMed part 37299, which we also carry. This HumidAir 11 tub is made only for AirSense 11 models and the AirCurve 11 VAuto, S and ASV.

Should I get the standard or cleanable tub?

The standard tub suits most people using their own machine at home who don't mind buying distilled water. The cleanable tub accepts drinking water and comes apart, and ResMed rates it for 2.5 years, where this one is rated for six months.

Can the standard tub go in the dishwasher?

Yes. ResMed's North American AirSense 11 guide says the humidifier tub may be put through a dishwasher, as long as it isn't hotter than 55 C. A few older ResMed web pages still say otherwise, but the North American guide is the one that applies in Canada.

How often should I replace the standard tub?

ResMed's design life for it is six months. Replace it early at the first sign of a leak, a crack, cloudiness or pitting, or a torn silicone seal, since ResMed notes that a crack can harbour bacteria.

Can I run my AirSense 11 without the tub?

Not with an empty slot. The machine won't start therapy unless a water tub or ResMed's side cover is in place. On a flight, ResMed says to leave the tub in but empty, and never to use water in it in the air.
